ZHUYAONEIRONG:

Some rural communities have challenges in accessing good quality and safe drinking water whereas with other sectors of such communities water scarcity remains a cause for concern. Without the availability of electricity, but the abundance of heat from the sun, herein we propose a solar driven membrane treatment process that integrates with fundamental pre-treatment strategies to maximize on water production of acceptable standards which originates from wells. This work is being carried out in a typical rural community in South Africa and already shows good promise for success.
